It might be easy for big businesses to invest in advanced mailing lists software that sends thousands of e-mail everyday. But for the small entrepreneurs, it’s still the old-fashioned way of manually sending to multiple recipients. Tired of the old type-the-address, click-on-the-address-book routine? Then you might want to check out Vallen E-Mailer.

Vallen E-mailer is exactly that: a freeware e-mailer. The simple interface of Vallen gets the job done without the fancy visual frills. You can choose to send an e-mail written in plain or HTML text. You can even attach files if the need arises. To use Vallen, you just need to have in hand a list of e-mail addresses written on a text file. (You remembered to get their permission, right?) Create your e-mail, choose the text file containing the e-mail addresses, and press “Send.” You can send e-mail to hundreds or even thousands of recipients with a single click of a button. Need categories? Then create as many lists as needed and choose which list is appropriate for your e-mail. This is perfect if you want to publish a newsletter about new products and services.

If personalized e-mail isn’t much of an issue, then Vallen E-mailer can do the job for you.

Vallen E-mailer is compatible with Win9x/2000/XP.

So you’ve had a blog for some time now and you feel your content is fantastic, but you have no clue on how to reach a bigger audience. Or maybe you do have a modest following but you’re not sure how many they are or what they really like about your site. Fear no more. We’ve got just the tool so help you become an A+ blogger.

Publishing RSS feeds is one of the most effective ways to convert your visitors into a loyal audience. By giving them a heads up about your latest posts, they’ll keep coming back to enjoy your content. For a simple way to achieve this loyal readership, you can turn to FeedBurner, a Google-acquired company.

FeedBurner automatically notifies blog directories whenever you publish new content, making you known to more people. Subscribers get the added option of receiving your feeds via email for their convenience. Your feed also gets tricked out by giving subscribers an easy way to share and comment on the content you publish. FeedBurner maximizes compatibility with most RSS readers to ensure you cast the widest possible net. Lastly, you can brag about your updated circulation statistics by pasting a code anywhere on your web site.

FeedBurner can even analyze your site’s stats, as well as the effectiveness of your feed, by monitoring which posts are most popular and how widely it is circulated. And when you reach that critical mass of subscribers that you can say, “I am popular,” you can join the FeedBurner Ad Network and earn some money to reward all your efforts.

FeedBurner works especially well on Blogger, WordPress, TypePad, Myspace, and podcast/video feeds.

You can build RSS feeds for your web site for free by using your computer’s handy text editor – but this only works if you either have a lot of time on your hands or you’re some kind of masochist. If you don’t want to go through the painful route of manual coding, you can use RSS Builder. This application helps you automatically set up news feeds, making it useful for web site owners who want to keep their readers updated with the latest additions to their site.

The RSS Builder interface is simple – even the most hesitant web masters can use it to implement feeds on their site. The Feed Properties window lets you input your site URL, email address, feed description, and feed title. You can also add images and implement CSS or XSL style sheets if you want images and layouts displayed with your feed. When you’re done, you can use the built-in FTP client to upload your feeds to the web server.

Along with the embedded FTP client and style sheet support, RSS Builder includes support for podcasts and enclosures, XML previews, and a built-in HTML editor for text and layout formatting. All these features give you full control of your feed’s content and look. RSS Builder will prove to be a valuable application for bloggers and podcasters, especially if their blogging software doesn’t include automatic feed generation.

RSS Builder requires Microsoft Windows versions 98 and above. A NET Framework 2.0 installation is also needed, and you can easily get this via the RSS Builder setup.

Create and manage an email newsletter with Dada Mail

Most web sites work better with a mailing list – they can easily inform people of site updates, let them know of new products or services, or encourage people to make return visits. This makes email newsletters one of the most powerful marketing strategies out there. However, managing email newsletters can either be costly or difficult.

That’s where Dada Mail (formerly Mojomail) comes in. Dada Mail is a web-based application that lets you create and manage mailing lists for your email newsletter. It supports email validation, subscribe/ unsubscribe features, and address PIN verification. It also has administrative features such as password protection, the ability to manage multiple mailing lists, as well as full WYSIWYG customization for your newsletter.

The program can create emails in either plain text or HTML format and send it with or without file attachments. You can also use it to send a variety of messages such as simple announcements, HTML designed newsletters, and discussion mailing list messages. This allows for more flexible communication between you and your subscribers. Users can even syndicate your newsletter’s content, or search through message archives.

Security is another important feature of Dada Mail. Subscribers’ email addresses and IP addresses aren’t logged at all, so you can assure them of their privacy when they sign up for your news letter.

The program is also under GNU General Public License terms, which means that you can modify or improve the application – if you’ve got Perl programming skills.

Dada Mail runs on any web host that allows the use of CGI scripts.
