When dealing with complex sites, you can easily get lost with all the files you create. Having a naming convention is well and good, but what if you decided to have one after creating initial files? Renaming the old ones manually can be quite tedious. The solution? PFrank.

PFrank which stands for Peter’s Flexible RenAmiNg Kit is a freeware tool designed to automate file renaming processes. By specifying the search patterns, you can easily find files and create a consistent naming convention for them. To start using PFrank, just download the setup file and install. Once you have started the program, it’s time to create search patterns. The search patterns follow regular expressions or regexp. No idea about regexp? The documentation for PFrank is quite extensive, covering basics for regexp among other topics. Once you have your search pattern, just proceed with Scan and all files that match your search will be displayed. You now have your choice of renaming those files with the specified replace pattern. Whether you’re a web designer who needs to rename a lot of files, or a simple blogger who wants a more organized file structure, PFrank is ready to take the job.

PFrank is a Windows application and is compatible with 98/ME/2000/XP/2003
